Advocacy Projects

Our Sickle Cell Awareness advocacy projects are dedicated to transforming the landscape for individuals affected by sickle cell disease. We focus on raising awareness, influencing policy, and improving access to quality healthcare and education for warriors across Nigeria.

The advocacy projects engage with policymakers at local, state, and national levels to push for legislation and policies that support individuals with sickle cell disease. This includes advocating for free or subsidized treatment, mandatory genotype testing before marriage, and inclusion of sickle cell education in school curricula.

The foundation also runs media campaigns using radio, television, social media, and community events to raise public awareness about sickle cell disease. These campaigns aim to dispel myths, reduce stigma, and encourage individuals to know their genotype status.

Through strategic partnerships with other NGOs, healthcare institutions, and international organizations, the advocacy projects amplify the voices of sickle cell warriors and ensure that their needs are represented in national health discourse. The foundation participates in global sickle cell awareness events including World Sickle Cell Day, using these platforms to drive meaningful change.
