Caregiver Support

Our organization is committed to providing tailored sessions and resources designed specifically for caregivers of individuals with sickle cell disease. We understand that caring for someone with this condition requires specialized knowledge, emotional resilience, and practical support.

The Caregiver Support program provides training for care and support workers who assist individuals with sickle cell disease in their daily lives. These trained and verified support workers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to manage crises, administer medication, recognize symptoms, and provide emotional support to warriors.

The program also offers regular support group meetings for family members and caregivers, providing a space to share experiences, learn from each other, and access professional counseling. Caregivers receive educational materials about sickle cell disease management, nutrition, crisis prevention, and mental health self-care.

Respite care services are available to give caregivers temporary relief from their responsibilities, allowing them to rest and recharge. The foundation also advocates for the recognition and support of caregivers, acknowledging their critical role in the wellbeing of sickle cell warriors.

Through this program, we ensure that those who care for warriors are themselves cared for, creating a sustainable support ecosystem that benefits the entire sickle cell community.
